Christmas

This Christmas we went down to Las Vegas to see Brent's family. We haven't spent Christmas with them since Isaac's first Christmas when he was 8 months old. The weekend before we went to Delta to have our Christmas with my family and it was a lot of fun. Isaac got a remote control car from Nana and Papa and he absolutely loves it.

We had to open the Christmas Eve present before I went to work but he got the customary P.J.'s

I love this hat it goes really well with his big present he got.

Here it is put together, it only took us like 2 hours to get it together but Isaac loves it so much.

It was a really nice Christmas, very short but really nice. I have such a wonderful family and I am so thankful that we were able to go down and have such an enjoyable Christmas together.

First Quarter

Brent's last final was yesterday and now he is off for Christmas break which will go through January 12. He did so good in all of his classes, his final grades for the first quarter was 3 A's and 1 B. I am so happy that he is really enjoying what he is being taught, including math which I just don't get. He is 10% done with school now and it has only been 3 months. Hopefully the rest of his school will go as well as this first quarter went. A lot of the people in his class either failed or dropped out and I am so proud of him for doing such a good job. Now he has a month to sit in front of the PlayStation and forget everything he was taught.

Thanksgiving and Decorating for Christmas

So I have been slacking on my posting for a while so I will quickly catch up on the big stuff.

Thanksgiving - Brent has a couple of friends from school who don't have any family in the state so we invited them to Thanksgiving at our place. I was kinda nervous cause this was only our 2nd thanksgiving that we were doing by ourselves and for Yaz it was his first traditional Thanksgiving ever (He is from Cuba and has only been here for a couple years). Anyway, it all went really well. We watched movies and ate dinner, nothing to exciting but it was really nice.

As it was Thanksgiving and all I would like to say what I am thankful for. I am so incredibly thankful for Brent and Isaac. They are the greatest joys in my life and I can't imagine my life without either of them. I am also so thankful for both my and Brent's families. I have been so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. I love you all.

Now to the decorating. We have this small tree that Brent's mom gave us when we were first married. When I started to pull everything out to start decorating Isaac saw this tree and got so excited. I put it in his room because I take after my mom and like to have as many Christmas trees as are possible in my house. Anyway, we were going to wait for a little while before we got our main tree because we buy a live one, but Isaac was just so excited that we decided to get a tree then. So we told Isaac that we were going to go get a bigger tree and he just ran around the house saying "Bigger tree. Bigger tree." It was so cute.

Isaac helping. He actually did really good and for the most part spread the decorations out.

Brent helping. He did really good too.

Here is the finished product. I like it.

Here is my village. It is embarrassingly small but what can ya do. I still think it turned out alright. The boy just loves the village and does really good at not touching it, especially since I know he really really wants to play with it. His favorite is the little church. He calls it the holiday church. He is so cute.

Hair Cuts

Brent and Isaac got hair cuts. Isaac got his done on Wed. and Brent got his done today. Usually I cut Isaac's hair but the last few times he has hated it so I brought him to great clips to get it done and he did so good that they gave him 2 suckers, he is so cute he will say "I got hair cut, I got 2 suckers."

I have the 2 cutest boys ever.

Ward Halloween Party

Today was our ward's halloween party. Isaac was dressed like a pirate, we searched everywhere for an eye patch but we couldnt find one, luckily I had a sword, gun, and a spyglass that went really good with his outfit. Isaac loved dressing up and had such a fun time going Trunk-or-Treating.

On our way.
Getting ready to eat.
Balloons
Fishing

Throwing beanbags, I must say Isaac is an amazing shot.

This is one of the kids in my Primary class. I thought his costume was so cute I had to take a picture.

On a totally seperate note - Everywhere we go, and I literally mean everywhere, Isaac is constantly getting things from strangers. Twice at hospitals people have bought him things, some candy and a little stuffed camel, alot of the time when we go to any store someone will give him something, a little toy or some candy. Anyway, we went out to eat at Bajio, we have been going to this same one for a while and the workers all kinda know us, but today one of the workers came around and gave Isaac this 5-pack of hotwheels. Sometimes I wish that they wouldnt cause I dont want him to think that he can just get anything he wants but I love that people think he is so cute.

Hospital

It has been an interesting couple of days. Thursday Isaac wakes up at around 1 am and has really bad diarrhea and throws up. We cleaned him up and put him to sleep on the couch in our room, 45 mins. later the same thing happened again. Throughout the night we did not go a full hour without some kind of episode with him. We tried to give him some water and even the smallest sip would make him throw up. Brent had to go to school so I called and made an appointment around 3:00. We get to the Dr. and he gives Isaac an Otter Pop to see if he can keep it down, Isaac threw it up so around 4:30 we headed over to Primarys Children Hospital to get an IV into Isaac so he could get some fluids. By the time me and Isaac got to Primarys his face was so pale and he had really dark circles around his eyes and he had absolutly no energy. They stuck him with an IV and took some blood and started him going with the fluids. They figured he had food poisoning and it turned into severe dehydration. He stayed that way for a couple of hours and then they gave him some nausia medicine and a popsicle, he perked up alot after he got the popsicle which you can see in the pictures. When his blood work came back it was so messed up that they decided to keep him overnight while continuing the fluids because if they didnt then he would just be back in the morning with the same thing. It was better after that because I didnt have to keep telling him that he couldnt have a drink of water, which is so hard to do while the kid is just begging for a drink, and we could give him a drink whenever he asked. He got discharged at around noon today and has been sleeping and drinking all day. He still hasnt eaten much only a couple of crackers in 2 days but hopefully he will feel good enough tomorrow to eat some more.

This is when we first got to Primarys and had the IV put in. The stuffed animal was from the nurses in the ER, they thought he was just the cutest, which he is.

This was after he got his popsicle. You can tell that he has a lot more color.

After we had been moved from the ER to an actual room.

This morning right before we were discharged.

It was really hard to see Isaac hurting that much and I am so glad that we can go to a Dr. anytime and be treated immediatly.

First day of school

Okay so it was actually orientation not his first day of actual school but it is still pretty exciting, he got his laptop and it is SO nice, but it better be for $1800.
We went to a picnic for the students and their families on Saturday (it was a complete nerd-fest which isn't surprising since it is a computer school), and almost all of the students are right out of high school so I know it will be more uncomfortable for him and I am so proud of him for doing this. It is going to be a hard couple of years, as of Friday I am the only one working, and it will take a while to get used to not being with each other all of the time (like literally 24/7), but I am so happy that we have done something to further our lives.
Brent thought I was crazy cause I had to get a picture of him on his first day, I cant help it, it was how I was raised. Plus he looks really good.

So get ready, in 2 1/2 years Brent will be a computer genius.

The Fair

This last Saturday we were thinking of things that we could do with the boy and we remembered that the Utah State fair was going on. So we got in the car and drove downtown and went to the Fair. The first thing that we did was go and see the animals. Isaac LOVED it. We were pretty surprised because he wasn't scared at all to pet any of the animals, he immediatly tried to pet any animal that he saw.

Here are a few pictures of our day at the fair. The Sheep nibbled on Isaac's arm just as Brent took the picture.

This was the first animal that we saw and Isaac could not stop smiling.

I was trying to get a picture of just the boy but other kids kept rushing in and sitting down, so here is a picture of Isaac and a couple of kids we dont know petting a calf.

We went on a few of the rides, but there werent alot that he could go on alone so I got to go with him on most of them. We didn't take alot of pictures, mostly just videos.

It was such a nice Saturday spending time together as a family. It will be sad when Brent starts school and we wont be able to just go and do things like this anymore.

Side note-Today was Isaac's first day in Day Care with big-boy underwear and he didn't even have an accident, he is such a little man.
